Meeting Minutes Term 2 Week 8

Vlogs
Today we learnt how to record a short video clip, upload it to Youtube and embed it into the blog.
For those of you away at choir, we will catch up on this in the next couple of weeks. I have emailed everyone the Youtube login and password information.

Our goal is to get most of the classrooms at FOS into vlogs. They are so easy to do and a powerful tool (don't they look a lot more interesting than just text?)

Maybe I should've turned this post into a vlog.

First Official Meeting 2010

Agenda

Sporting Events Photographer

• Need someone (more than one person??) to photograph all sporting events as they happen and load into the sports picasa account. Anna and Ben will do this. Meeting with them to learn the sports picasa account.
  

New Staff Photos

• Photos of Kate, Louise, Mrs. Davids and Ms. Brown for their staff pages. Cassa is going to do this.
  

Blog setup and customisation

• Ms. Brown would like someone to help her set up her class blog today at 1:30 in the library John and Sophie will be there.

• We will be looking for new Tech Wizards for next year soon.

• Everyone must choose a topic they would like to be an expert on to train the new people. You have 4 weeks to learn about your topic and plan a training session (we will talk more about this next week)
• This week you must choose a topic and put your name down on the Tech Wizard Spreadsheet
  

Meeting Minutes Term 3 Week 2

You guys are awesome - your imovie plans are complete, you know which camcorder and laptop you are using, plus you know who is doing what for your maths game movie.

Remember movie making is demanding and intense - the more you put into it the more you will get back out!

Meeting Minutes Term 3 Week 1

Agenda:

1. Maths Games iMovie - we spent time talking about the purpose of these movies and how to plan them out. Groups and progress are linked off the TW Spreadsheet. Storyboards must be finished by next week's meeting.
   
2. Reminders about being responsible - Tech Wizards who don't follow up on things (eg. iMovie, roster) will not go on the roster. Please remember if you can't make it for whatever reason, that you must let someone know. Too many non-attendances make it hard to progress.

Actions:
By next Tuesday's meeting, everyone will have:

1. Completed their storyboard - otherwise you won't be able to do your movie.
2. Shot at least one scene of footage for their movie. Write down which camera and which pod computer you are using in the google doc (this makes it easy to remember!!).

2. Next Tuesday - assembly setup training. All TWs are invited to attend this session with Rob and Toby.
   

Actions:
By next Tuesday, every TW needs to have booked themselves out using the roster so they can work with their partners to complete the plan (this is on the wall in Rob's office). Next Tuesday you will start filming your footage and putting it together in an iMovie.

Meeting Minutes Term 2 Week 4

• Roster: Jared and John not present to work on roster. Annabel and Henry are taking responsibility for Monday-Wednesday, will do complete it this afternoon. Jarred will do Thursday and Friday.

How to Upload the photos to FOS Live

• Load the pictures in iPhoto
• File > Export > Pics
• Select the correct album to upload the picture to (what area of the site do you want it to go to?)

Meeting Minutes Term 2 Week 3

Agenda:

1. Roster - Jared and John to complete during meeting. This job was not completed before the meeting. Remember that if you are not on the roster, you won't ever get to support learning across the school!
   
2. Historical Archive - Rob shared the historical archive picasa page showing old photos sent in by former students. Check the history page on FOS Live.
   
3. iPhoto skills for R20 children - Sarah and Sophie helped Nick and Zach from Team 20 to crop, title and rotate their Maui and the sun artwork photos ready for upload.
4. Blogging skills for Room 10 -Izzy, Harry and Olivia went to Room 10 to support their blogging skills. Make sure labels are being used correctly.

Next week we'll look at taking photos around the school and uploading these to FOS Live with Sheena.

• Term 2 Roster - Everybody has now entered all their details into the spreadsheet. Entering these details into FirstClass. Annabel, Hannah and Henry are starting on this. Will finish by the next meeting.
  
• Ben (GarageBand) - Ben shared some of his songs on GarageBand and showed us how to create a simple mix.
  
• What do you want to learn this term? - We left comments on the last meeting's post about things we'd like to learn or improve on. Making this a personal goal/focus for the rest of the term. Thinking about how to accomplish this.
• Google accounts - many problems with signing into the TW blog to post. Checked to maked sure that invitations to join the blog were accepted and that all have Google accounts.

Meeting Minutes Term 1 Week 5

Agenda:

• Assembly - well done, remember to pack up. I encourage you to delegate this if you want to, to responsible people in the class who are running assembly.
• Google Apps - thank you Jared for being independent and following up. There is a relationship between how much learning energy you put into things, and how much you learn as a Tech Wizard.
  
• Junior Playhouse - here is the link to the junior playhouse page on FOS Live. We are supporting Mrs Brown by taking photos (Bayley, Nick, Jay) and then importing them into iPhoto (Ben). Once this is done, we then upload them to the web site (Henry, Jared, Annabel, Sophie) and they appear!
• Roster - is this all set up now? Yes.

Actions:

1. All - Check the roster every day.
2. All - Practice using google apps.
3. Bayley, Nick, Jay - get photos from R4.
4. Jared - try inviting others to your presentation (eg. Carolyn, others in Room 9, etc.)

• Logging into your Google Apps account. We didn't manage to get everyone into the TW Spreadsheet.
• Sorting out the roster. Anyone who was not here is not on the roster.

In all cases, TWs must let Rob or one of the team know if you cannot make the meeting. Meetings are always Tuesday 11.45-12.30 unless it changes in the Daily Notices.

Action Points:

• Those who were absent to let Rob know why.
• Everyone to have a go at using their google apps account this coming week for something in your class. This is to be shared at the next meeting.
• Everyone is to check the roster in the FirstClass intranet. This will be finalised today by Sophie, Nick and Annabel.
  

Meeting Minutes Term 4 Week 8

1. TWTs - how are they going? Only one session of photo sharing, a couple of blogging which is going well, four sessions for taking great photos.
   
2. Taking great photos - next step is to get the TWTs taking photos of things that are happening and sharing these to class blogs. Do some analysis of the quality of their photos.

1. Teaching Tips for TWTs - what do you do if you get more kids than you had expected? What about breaking them into groups so they are either doing different things or helping each other. Could you give them practice at teaching each other (get two to watch someone else teaching someone and then give them feedback).

Meeting Minutes - Term 4 Week 5

1. Digital Safety - what does this mean at FOS? Being safe when using digital equipment, not searching for icons, doing things that improve your learning, when you go on a website if anything bad or inappropriate happens then what to do,treating equipment with respect and safely.
   
2. TWT programme -going really well. The TWTs are listening well. Remember that you are the leaders of this so assert yourselves if you need to.
   
3. FOS News - we are trying to get a copy of all news items from the whole year to put on the FOS youtube account. Connor and Logan started this. We need someone to take responsibility for this and they need to liaise with the Room 10 people. On Mondays (or after assemblies) they need to put the imovie into the Class iMovie Backup > FOS News.
   
4. Library & Sports Blog - getting all classes onto these two key blogs. Julius/Connor - how is the joining up of the classrooms to the library blog going?
5. Google Apps - every TWT will get their own FOS google account (if their parent agrees). This is something TWs may not get as they already have their own gmail account.

Actions:

• Rob to list which TWT is in which area and set up a checklist for the register of who turns up.
• Julius/Connor - identify a TWT to help you do the job of connecting classrooms to the library/sports blogs. Work with Rob next week to make the checklist.
  

Tech Wizard Trainee Meeting - Term 4 Week

Agenda:

1. Questions about the programme - Badges, emails, FirstClass accounts.
   
2. Responsibilities - all tech wizard trainees must let the person running their meeting know if they cannot make it for whatever reason.
   
3. Job Descriptions - every TWT will need to decide on a job they will take responsibility for. You will become an expert in the school for this area. It is tied in with our new school web site FOS Live.
   

Meeting Minutes Term 4 Week 2

1. FOS Live - Rob shared how this links in with the TWT programme. Photo sharing, blogging and iPhoto are important skills for all teachers and kids at FOS because of this.
2. Tech Wizard Trainee Programme - Tech Wizards have been assigned to an area of responsibility for TWTs. Rob will be meeting the TWTs Wednesday to look at which job they want to learn more about and will take responsibility for. TWs need to follow up on actions below.
   
3. Training the Board of Trustees Monday evening - thank you to those who helped. Very positive session.

Actions:

• In the TW Spreadsheet in google docs - decide when they will run sessions with their group each week. This needs to be communicated via the daily notices and followed up. One person in the group needs to be the leader for this.
• Rob to set a meeting for all TWTs to get them thinking about what they want to do
